These amazing girls are going to celebrate their birthdays together over the Lunar New Year holiday on February 2nd. Happy birthday to Sori, f(x)’s Victoria, and SECRET’s Zinger!Although they’re all turning a different age, the girls developed a friendship by appearing on numerous variety programs together, such as KBS’s “Invincible Youth” and MBC’s “Bouquet“, as written on Allkpop.
Through her Twitter, Sori thanked fans for their birthday wishes by writing, “I was so touched. Thank you for congratulating my birthday. I think I’ll be able to sleep now, I’m so, so happy.” In a separate message to Zinger, she wrote, “Happy birthday, Zinger. I hope only good things happen to you.”
Other stars such as Gu Ji Sung, who knew them through “Bouquet,” congratulated their birthdays as well, followed by Jewelry’s Eunjung.
Fans from all three stars have also come together to leave birthday messages on each other’s fancafes.

Hello! Project’s Yuu Kikkawa launches solo career with debut single, movie

Former Hello! Pro Egg member Yuu Kikkawa (18) has officially scheduled her anticipated debut solo single. She will release “Kikkake wa YOU!” under the Universal J label on March 30, with her name romanized as You Kikkawa.In addition to the single, Kikkawa will star in a movie, also titled “Kikkake wa YOU!” The movie is scheduled to open in early May during Golden Week.
Kikkawa has also been chosen to serve as an opening act for Universal Studios Japan’s special event “UNIVERSAL DREAM LIVE 2011,” which was revealed a few weeks ago. She will perform on March 19, the first day of the three-day event. BEAST and SDN48 are already scheduled to perform on that day as well.
Kikkawa first gained attention in 2006 when she was a finalist in Morning Musume’s 8th generation audition. She became an Egg the following year, and she was later placed in the 3-member group Milky Way, tied in with the anime series “Kirarin Revolution.”

Super Junior’s Heechul Over SM Entertainment’s ‘Slave Contract’

Super Junior’s Heechul set out to clarify the rumors regarding SM Entertainment’s ’slave contract’ during his interview for the February edition of “GQ.”He revealed, “Of course, I, too, have many problems with my company. But I don’t think that it’s necessary to reveal all of them to the public. Honestly speaking, ‘we don’t make money?’ That is not true. Lately, everyone keeps talking about slave contacts this, slave contracts that, but what’s really funny is, what kind of slave goes out and buys his parents a building? What kind of slave drives a car? What kind of slave goes out for drinks?”
Heechul previously revealed that he and his fellow Super Junior members re-signed with SM Entertainment on the January 18th episode of MBC’s “Radio Star“. His bandmate, Siwon, asked the media not to “call us slaves, and to never use the term because it makes us feel like slaves.”
After expressing his thoughts against rumors surrounding SM Entertainment’s slave contracts through his interview with “GQ” magazine, Super Junior’s Heechul left a series of impassioned tweets to defend his stance.
Reportedly, Heechul became very upset by a tweet from an anti, which read:

Ah… Since you’re a slave, did your master order you to act out too? Gackt wants to get a helicopter lisence

Gackt is trying his luck in voice acting for “SUPERNATURAL : THE ANIMATION”, and on January 19th, he held a recording session for the first time for the anime at a studio in Tokyo.He confessed at the pers conference that he would like to get a helicopter license as the challenge for this year. He said, “I want to show up to my own live concert flying the helicopter. I want to challenge something that everybody can’t do or thinks is stupid.”
As a fan of the American drama “Supernatural”, Gackt really enjoyed his part of this anime adaption. The contents of the anime is not different from the original drama, but according to Gackt, there are some unique expressions which only the anime can express.
GACKT also talked about the voice acting, “I really love this job because I can express my thoughts and emotions by using my voice.”
“SUPERNATURAL : THE ANIMATION” (Vol.1) will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD as well as “on demand distribution” starting on February 23rd.
Koda Kumi Released Her New Album

Pop diva Koda Kumi just revealed information about her highly anticipated ninth album, “Dejavu”!The album will go on sale March 2nd and will come in three editions: a limited CD+2DVD version, a CD+DVD version and a CD-only regular edition. The 2-disc special edition contains PVs and an exclusive recording of the singer’s “Dream music park Live,” which took place at Yokohama Stadium on July 3rd and 4th of last year.
Once the CD+2DVD version is sold out, the CD+DVD version (which contains only the PV disc) will go on sale. The CD itself features all her hit songs “Lollipop,” “Suki de, Suki de, Suki de,” “Anata Dake ga” and the “Crayon Shin-Chan” theme song “Hey Baby!” along with 11 new songs for a total of 15 tracks.

The Wonder Girls secretly volunteered and donated for two years

The consistent charity work the Wonder Girls have been involved in has touched the hearts of netizens.Since 2008, the Wonder Girls volunteered at an infants home in Gyeonggi-do, Kwangju.
The home was created under the aim to create a safe environment for infants with disabilities to grow and learn. Although each of the members took part in the volunteer work, Ye Eun took a step further by personally donating $10,000 USD for the surgery of an infant born with a deformed finger. For six months after the surgery, Ye Eun continued to make contributions towards the child’s health. Thanks to her help, the child is now able to move her fourth and fifth fingers.
A representative of the facility commented, “The Wonder Girls members visited often for volunteer work, and Ye Eun even contributed towards surgery fees. The members themselves did not want their acts to be reported to the public, and requested that we keep it a secret.”
Sunye was also found to have donated to an orphanage in Gyeonggi-do, Paju. A representative of the facility revealed, “The members came for volunteer work. The fact that they did not even wear any make up while participating made them that much more beautiful. Sunye especially quietly did her work and shed many tears while looking after the children.”
This isn’t the first time Sunye’s done a charitable act. Earlier, she was reported to have helped out an old man living in a mud hut in the mountains, as well as several donations towards an orphanage in Eunpyung-gu.
Even while the group was busy with their U.S. activities in 2009, the girls continued their charitable acts. At the end of every year, JYP Entertainment artists visit the Samsung Medical Center for a free concert for the patients there.
A representative of JYPE confirmed, “It is true that Ye Eun donated. Not only Sunye and Ye Eun, but the other members take part in charity work as well. The members do not want this to reach the pu
blic, as they do these acts with pure hearts. It seems like they’re worried about people misinterpreting their intentions if such news reaches the public. The girls also do take part in the company’s year-end charity performances at the Samsung Medical Center.”Source: Allkpop

Hiroshi Tamaki at the Caribbean

Actor Hiroshi Tamaki (30) recently flew across the sea to the Caribbean for the special program “Chikyu Daikikou SP: Caribbean Dream,” scheduled to air on TBS on Februari 5th.As his first overseas travel journal show, he set out to Jamaica on December 20th, wher he swam in the ocean and met with Olympic gold-medalist sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser. The journey continued to Costa Rica, where he spent two days to find a quetzal bird and enjoyed Christmas at his tour guide’s place.
He ended his journey at Cuba and jammed on the guitar at the home of Eliades Ochoa, one of the musicians for the famous Buena Vista Social Club. He also celebrated New Year’s Day for the first time overseas.

Mizuki Nana releases her first autobiography

Mizuki Nana has her own way to celebrate her 10 year anniversary as a singer next year. Instead of releasing a single or album, she is releasing her first autobiography, “Shin’ai”.As an autobiography, the book speaks a lot about her life, starting from her childhood, when she grew up in Ehime, to her struggling life in the entertainment industry — about how her father trained her to sing Enka songs since she was a child, and how it eventually led to her winning a karaoke contest.
Nana mentions how the company she was first with went bankrupt and her financial situation was not good, and at the same time her father’s condition was worsening. You can say that this book is a book of confessions, and even though the odds weren’t in Nana’s favor, she never gave up and kept believing in her dream of a life in Tokyo.
The title of her book is actually the title of her 19th single, “Shin’ai”, that was released on January 21, 2009. It reached #1 on the Oricon charts and she performed it at “Kouhaku Uta Gassen” that same year.
The book will release on Nana’s 31st birthday, January 21st.

Krystal’s F(x) Collapsed In The Middle of A Concert

One of the girls from F(x), Krystal, was rushed to the hospital after she passed out in the middle of a concert on Saturday. She abruptly fell to the ground during the group’s second song at the Lotte Duty Free Family Concert at Seoul Olympic Stadium.Krystal immediately moved off the stage. Luna, the other member, quickly calmed the crowd. “Krystal has been under a lot of stress and fatigue and we hope that our fans understand.”
F(x)’s management company, SM Entertainment, reported information later that day from the hospital she was staying in that the singer was in stable condition.

Director Kinji Fukasaku’s cult 2000 film “Battle Royale” has been rereleased in 3D, with Anna Tsuchiya, 26, singing the theme song. Tsuchiya’s song is titled “Checkmate mash up Anty the kunoichi Volta Masters,” and was released on Nov 17.Joined by one of the movie’s stars, Taro Yamamoto, Tsuchiya appeared at a screening this week, wearing a black miniskirt resembling one of the junior high school students from the movie who get dragged into a survival game. “I think I’ve created a song that reflects the raw tension of the movie,” she said.
When asked by a journalist what she would do in the event of a real face-off, she answered, “No one would shoot a girl as cute as me.” Of her own high school days, she said, “I just hated it and would constantly think of ways to get out of going. Unfortunately, my mom was the chairwoman of the PTA, so I used to get busted immediately.”

The nation’s cutie, Moon Geun Young, has uploaded some cute behind-the-scenes photos from her drama, KBS 2TV’s “Mary Stayed Out All Night.”The pictures show a lot of her comedic side, such as two with her face pressed up against a window, and one where she imitates the Puss in Boots from “Shrek.”
Producers of the drama stated on November 24th, “It’s difficult to for her to find a balance between looking cute and embarrassing herself. Thankfully, people have been responding warmly.”

Ryoko Hirosue announces pregnancy

Good news came from Ryoko Hirosue’s agency, when they announced on Monday that the actress is pregnant. According to the company’s statement, Hirosue had not been feeling well, so she visited a hospital at the start of this month, where it was confirmed that she is in her 16th week of pregnancy.Hirosue unexpectedly got married to candle artist Candle JUNE in early October, after dating for only seven months. It was widely suspected at the time that she might be pregnant, though nothing was officially announced until now. Hirosue already has a son from her previous marriage to designer Takahiro Okazawa, which ended in 2008.
Hirosue reportedly plans to continue working after the new child is born.
